Course creation

From what your team already has to a reviewed course.

Start from documents, decks, video, YouTube, GitHub, a research brief, an expert interview, or just a topic. Sonara drafts an outline your experts review, then writes the lessons, knowledge checks and flashcards. Nothing reaches learners until someone approves it.

Start from anything you have

  • Documents and decks

PDF, Word, PowerPoint, Markdown and plain text. Word headings and PowerPoint slide structure carry through to the course.

  • Video files

Upload MP4, MOV, M4V or WebM recordings. Sonara transcribes them and teaches from what was said.

  • YouTube

Add up to five YouTube videos to a course. Sonara works from their transcripts.

  • GitHub

Add up to three public GitHub repositories. Sonara reads each repository's README and description.

  • Web research

Turn on research for a course, describe the scope and list preferred sites. Research is off unless you ask for it, and its sources are shown for review.

  • Expert interview

No manual yet? Aura interviews your expert by voice or text, and the transcript becomes the course's source.

  • A topic alone

Describe the course you want and Sonara drafts it from general knowledge, ready for your experts to correct.

  • Your source library

Reuse sources already uploaded to the workspace instead of uploading them again.

People stay in charge

  • Outline review

Experts see and edit the proposed outline before any chapter is written.

  • Chapter editor

Edit readings, checks and flashcards, rewrite a reading, or regenerate a chapter's aids.

  • Practice drafted for you

Sonara can draft a role-play or a procedure simulation from the course material, with each criterion or step quoting the source. Learners only see it after a creator confirms it.

  • Approved visuals

Generated images can require approval before learners see them. Alt text and captions are editable.

  • Publishing checks

A course can't be published while a chapter is missing its lesson or still processing.

Narrated lessons, made for you

Each chapter gets a narrated slide lesson with captions. When an approved change updates a chapter, its lesson is rendered again.
